Threatened Premature Labour

Liver Blood deficiency
- Symptoms - minor abdominal and pelvic pain, pale skin, fetus does not receive enough blood causing agitated fetus and slow intrauterine development, vertigo, blurred vision, muscle spasms, palpitations, anxiety, vivid dreams, insomnia, dry skin, fine pulse, pale tongue

Spleen Qi deficiency
- Symptoms- little or no pelvic pain, soft dilated cervix, lack of appetite, abdominal distension, loose stools, weakness of the four limbs, general tiredness, pale complexion, weak slow pulse, pale flabby tongue, white coating, bearing down sensation of the pelvic organs, or actual prolapse, chronic white and abundant discharge

Liver Qi stagnation
- Symptoms- stronger and more painful contractions, tonic cervix, depression, irritability, sighing, chest oppression, swollen painful chest, breasts, lower abdomen, insomnia between 2-4 am, swollen leg sensation without actual edema, wiry pulse, normal or purple tongue, history of dysmenorrhea, irregular cycle, PMS

Spleen and Kidney Yang deficiency
- Symptoms- cold limbs, chilliness, progressive edema, spontaneous sweating, pale complexion, sore low back and knees, deep weak pulse, pale tongue, white coating

Kidney Essence deficiency
- Symptoms- slow intrauterine development, late pregnancy, poor memory, soreness and weakness of the low back and knees, scanty urination, loose teeth, grey hair, early hair loss history of infertility and malformation of the uterus, vagina, or cervix, deep pulse, pale tongue, white coating

Liver, Kidney, and Heart Yin deficiency
- Symptoms- inefficient uterine contractions with little or no cervix changes, anxiety, insomnia, vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus, headache, irritability, dry mouth and throat, hypochondriac pain, soreness and weakness of the lower back and knees, 5 palm heat, night sweating, thirst, fine and rapid pulse, red tongue, thin coating or no coating
