Raeghan Siemens
"I want you to be well." This is how Raeghan Siemens sums up her motivation as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncturist.
"When mind, body and spirit are in balance, things shift, healing begins. I want to help people find that balance."
Raeghan's practice home is the Acubalance Wellness Centre in Vancouver where she works primarily with women in their childbearing years. She supports women at all stages of the experience-- from enhancing fertility, through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
"It's very satisfying to empower women at this time in their lives-- when they want to build solid, healthy foundations for themselves and their families."
Treatments are offered in an environment that is respectful and nurturing, reflecting both Raeghan's medical skill and the TLC mastery she gained from past experience working in a spa setting.
Recognizing that other professionals have unique gifts to bring to the spectrum of client care, Raeghan frequently works collaboratively with caregivers such as physicians, midwives, chiropractors, doulas, massage therapists, and naturopaths.
"I like to think that I work at a 'virtual clinic' where we're all there to support the individual on his or her path to health."
When Raeghan first encountered Traditional Chinese Medicine, she was at university working toward a career in Western medicine. Drawn to the holistic philosophy and long track record of Traditional Chinese Medicine, she chose to apply her intellect and passion to the pursuit of a medical practice that reflected her own beliefs about the intricate interplay of body, mind and spirit. She's as excited about her work now as when she first began.
"People come to me with their questions, fears, stress. I get to come alongside and nurture them on a path to wellness. They leave feeling empowered, confident in their choices, confident in their bodies. I love my job because I get to see that kind of transformation again and again."
